I can't believe that my Baby Doll is in school! I swear she was just rolling over last week. I have no idea where the time went...
Back to School Night was on Monday. We left the kids with Grandma and Grandpa and went off to go find out who Shelly's new teacher would be and wether she would be going in the morning or afternoon. That part was a bit annoying. It would have been nice to know for the sake of other scheduling decisions that needed to be made, such as Jason's Talking Time.
Back to School Night was fun for Shelly. She was so excited that it was hard for her to sit still for the opening speech by the principle. Once they set us loose on the school, we took her to the Kindergarten play ground, showed her where the bathrooms were and then headed over to her class. We were trying to avoid the mad rush to the classroom.
Once we found her classroom, we let her see if she could find her seat. Turns out it was right next to the door, so she didn't have to search for too long.
The teacher gave us a scavenger hunt to go on which largely included all of the stuff we had already showed her, and ended with taking a picture with her teacher. Then we headed home to collect the other kids and get them in bed for the exciting day ahead!
We all got up early and ate a good breakfast that Mark made. He's amazing like that.
Emily eating German pancakes
Even Annie is excited...
Just trust me, this is her excited face :)
Ok, this one is totally excited!
Jason found some new clothes for himself while we were opening up Shelly's new school clothes.
Styling...?
Shelly is ready for school!
Then it was time to head outside to wait for the bus
Not here yet
Look at how big she is!
Everyone came over to help her wait. It was exciting!
At least Jason got into the excitement
Emily and Aunt Honey
And Daddy
Still not here
We sent Jason running to help pass the time
Shelly decided it was a good idea
Family picture?
At least one of us is dressed for pictures...
Oh, and we missed Emily
Just pretend we all look excited
It was talking long enough for the bus to get here that Mark went to go get Annie - she had been happily playing in her seat, but better to not have to worry about it.
Still waiting...
Nope, no bus that way
We were out there waiting for a long time before we finally decided that we had missed the bus, and I headed into the house to get my purse so I could drive her.
But then, the bus came!!
Yea!!
Shelly getting on the bus
Chatting with the bus driver - apparently there was construction that made her a bit late...
Jason is just excited for a chance to ride his pink bike...
See my purse back there on the ground?
Bye Shelly!
She's on the Snail bus in the morning and the heart bus on the way home. There's a bit of drama there that we'll work out in the next few days, but she's excited to start school!
