The Drama Contines! :-)

With Shelly now able to climb in and out of cribs at will, it's been harder to figure out bedtime. We have the two kids in the same room, but it's looking like we're going to have to do some adjusting. Shelly apparently doesn't go to sleep right when we put her down, and if Jason is already down she'll likely wake him up (accidentally or on purpose, we've seen both). Or, if we keep Jason up for a while longer until we think she's asleep, she won't be asleep when we go to put him down, and then they'll keep each awake for quite some time. Our theory is that Jason will start crying because he's not asleep (either got woken up or was never asleep), and Shelly will either try to comfort or quiet him and climb into bed with him. This almost never works... Once I found Jason on his tummy with Shelly on top of him and she had a blanket over his head an wrapped around his face and she had a pretty good hold on his neck/shoulder area, trying to pick him up, or something... I think we're going to have to keep them in separate rooms until Shelly gets used to her new found power of climbing, just so that everyone can sleep!

The funny side of her new super power is that she falls asleep in interesting places. The other day she was on her belly in the rocking chair in her room with her head shoved in the bottom of the arm rest, and her feet up on the other arm. Last night she had the light turned on and had crashed on top of a pile of toys. It looked rather uncomfortable to me, but she stayed there all night... I think it's probably past time to pull out her toddler bed. That way she can at least crawl back into bed when she's tired
